Christopher Peter Meloni is an American actor, popular as a character actor in the cult show 'Law and Order' on television. Special Victims Unit. His passion for acting started when he was in college. He studied acting at University of Colorado at Boulder. While he has appeared in movies and television shows and on stage, it's the roles he has played on smaller screens that has earned him the most acclaim. His ability to play characters that are both law enforcement and criminal has captured the attention of people. He played the part of a serial killer in his first television series project but later went on to take on the role of an NYPD detective. Because of his appearances on smaller screen, he's garnered multiple nominations for the prestigious Emmy Awards as well as the PRISM Awards. His most attractive facial feature is believed to be the blue eyes that pierce his face. They are regarded to be a distinctive feature and are credited with depicting rough characters with charisma. His name was included in the People's magazine's list for the Sexiest Men Alive in 2006.
